Frequently Asked Questions
What is CubeVi SpatialHub?
CubeVi SpatialHub is an online video hub like YouTube, but designed specifically for spatial videos such as SBS (side-by-side) videos. Users can upload their own SBS videos, and anyone with a CubeVi display can watch them directly in 3D.
What is an SBS (side-by-side) video?
A side-by-side (SBS) video is a format where the left-eye and right-eye images for 3D content are placed next to each other in a single frame, usually with the left-eye view on the left and the right-eye view on the right.
The video often looks horizontally squished when viewed normally, because each half of the frame contains a full image. A 3D display, VR headset, or compatible software then stretches and routes each half to the correct eye, creating a sense of depth.
How can I watch?
If you own a CubeVi display, you can access SpatialHub directly inside Cubestage. The display will automatically recognize the video format and play it in 3D.
How can I create a 3D video?
You can convert 2D videos to 3D using our built-in tools or third-party tools like Owl 3D. These tools accept standard video formats (MP4 or MOV) and output SBS-enabled videos that you can watch in 3D on a CubeVi display.
My 3D video does not look good. Why?
Most SBS creators assume that VR videos, 3D movies, or iPhone Spatial Videos should look even better on a spatial display. But desktop 3D monitors operate in a completely different perceptual scale: instead of placing viewers inside a giant world, they create a miniature world in front of them. This single shift explains why many existing 3D formats look wrong, and why AI-generated or 3DGS-based SBS content often looks far more natural. This article breaks down that hidden geometry—so creators can design SBS videos that truly shine on spatial displays.
